What We Believe

We exist for the worship of the living and true God in spirit and truth. We are eager to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout the Middle Peninsula of Virginia. We are committed to the ministry of the Word of God and the central place of the verse-by-verse expositional preaching of Jesus Christ crucified. We do not exist for political agendas, social activism, or any other causes—no matter how legitimate or good they may be. It is our sincere desire to serve our communities with the pure Word of the Gospel and the demonstration of the love of Christ in the good works He has prepared for us. We are an elder–led congregation.

The Scriptures are clear that sound doctrine is of the essence of true Christianity. It is for this reason that we want to be upfront about what we believe. We do not want to “water down” or “hide” our doctrine. We believe the doctrine taught in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith to be the doctrine of Scripture. All of the doctrines taught and proclaimed in our worship services and Bible studies will accord with the 1689 Baptist Confession.
